Über das Schiff
Die Historie
Originally the Marjorie is one of three existing baltic traders from the famous Nobigkrug series, which consisted of nearly 400 sailingships. These charactaristic ships, with transom stern and spoon bow, have demonstrated their quality and seaworthiness in shipping for more than 60 years. The Marjorie is a galleon built in 1932 in Rendsburg, former West Germany. In 1997, the ship was taken out of service and purchased by a pensioned German admiral. The admiral had great intentions in transforming the ship into a private sailingship. However, his ideas were by far too optimistically estimated, and as a result he had to sell the ship again in 2001.
In december 2001, the ship was towed from Hamburg to Kampen. Subsequently, they started an immense renovation project by transforming the ship into its present, wonderful accommodation. The Hartstocht was rebuilt into a luxurious sailing hotelship and the renovation was finished in 2003.
Now in 2012, Ronny & Damienne are the proud owners and name this three-master “Marjorie” again named after all previous ships.
Home port will be Antwerp – Belgium.
